Switch from Noom to Bento Bunny
Leaving Noom? Here's how to actually cancel (it's notoriously awkward), request your data export, and keep tracking for free with photo-first logging.

Why People Are Leaving Noom
Noom sells psychology, not just tracking — daily lessons, a coach, the famous colour-coded food system. For some people that structure is exactly what worked, at least for a while. But at roughly $209 a year as of mid-2026, Noom is one of the most expensive ways to track food on the market, the "coaching" is heavily templated, and underneath the curriculum sits a fairly ordinary calorie counter. A very common story: people finish absorbing Noom's ideas in a few months, then keep paying for a tracker they could have for free. Our Bento Bunny vs Noom comparison, our Noom review, and the best Noom alternatives cover the decision in depth — this page covers the exit.
Step 1: Request Your Data Export
Noom doesn't have a self-serve export button the way MyFitnessPal or Cronometer do. Getting your data out means asking for it:
- Contact Noom support — through the in-app help section or their support site — and request a copy of your personal data.
- Invoke your data rights explicitly. If you're in the EU/UK, this is a GDPR subject access request; California has the CCPA equivalent. Use the phrase "I request a copy of all personal data you hold about me" — companies handle these requests on a legal clock.
- Expect a wait. These requests are typically fulfilled within days to a few weeks, delivered by email or download link.
While you wait, screenshot the things you want immediate access to: your weight graph, your daily calorie budget, and your current weight goal. If Noom has been syncing weight to Apple Health, that history is already on your phone — and Bento Bunny reads it automatically.
Step 2: Actually Cancel Noom (Read This Part Carefully)
Noom's cancellation flow is notoriously awkward, and the right steps depend on where you signed up — and getting it wrong means another charge at full price.
If you subscribed through Noom's website (the most common path, via their quiz funnel):
- Cancelling here is not in your iPhone's subscription settings — Apple can't cancel a web subscription.
- Go through the Noom app or noom.com: open your account/subscription settings and look for the cancellation option, or message support and state plainly: "Please cancel my subscription effective immediately. I do not want a pause, a discount, or a plan change."
- Expect retention offers — pauses, discounts, "are you sure" screens. You may have to decline several before the cancellation goes through.
- Get written confirmation. Screenshot the confirmation screen and keep the confirmation email. If a charge lands after a confirmed cancellation, that screenshot is how you win the dispute.
If you subscribed through the App Store (you'd see Noom listed under your Apple subscriptions): open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, tap Noom, and tap Cancel Subscription. Done — Apple's flow has no retention maze.
Not sure which? Check Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions first. If Noom isn't listed there, you're on a web subscription and need the Noom-side cancellation. Then check your bank statement: a charge from Apple means App Store; a charge from Noom means web.
Important: cancelling stops the next charge — Noom generally doesn't refund the current term, and many of their plans bill several months upfront. Cancel well before your renewal date.
Step 3: Start Fresh in Bento Bunny — Goals Carried Over
Download the Bento Bunny beta from TestFlight (free, no credit card). In onboarding, enter the calorie budget and goal weight you screenshotted from Noom. Two minutes, and your plan continues — without the $209-a-year meter running.
Logging works by camera: point it at your plate, the AI identifies the food and estimates portions, one tap and it's saved. On iOS 26 and later the AI runs on-device, so your meal photos never leave your phone. Barcode scanning is free.
What Maps to What
- Daily calorie budget → Bento Bunny daily calorie goal. Same number, same job.
- Colour-coded foods (green/yellow/orange) → no direct equivalent, by design — the colours were a teaching tool for calorie density, and once you've internalised the lesson, plain calorie and macro numbers do the same work without the moralising.
- Weigh-ins → tracked in Bento Bunny and synced with Apple Health, including your history if Noom was writing to Health.
- Lessons and coach chats → these don't transfer anywhere; they're Noom's content, not your data. The habits you built are yours, though, and they're the part that matters.
- Food history → arrives via your data request; keep it as your archive.
What You Gain on the Other Side
Mostly: the same daily tracking loop at a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the taps. No lessons queued up before breakfast, no templated coach check-ins, no annual renewal shock. Just point, tap, logged — and an export button on our side, any time you want your data back out. If Noom's psychology curriculum genuinely helped you, keep the ideas. You finished the course; you don't have to keep paying tuition.
